To Chy Johnson, Queen Creek High School's Bulldogs are bigger heroes off the football field.
The 16-year-old sophomore was born with a brain disorder and came home every day crying from constant bullying until the Arizona students took her under their wing.
'They save me because I wont get hurt again,' Chy said.
Before befriending the team it was a struggle just to make it to the final bell.
'The girl threw trash at me,' Chy said, describing one of the bullies.
The team took notice after Chy's mother, finally fed up with seeing her daughter terrorized, called on a family friend for help.
That boy was Carson Jones, starting quarterback for the undefeated football team.
'I emailed Carson and told him Chy was having some issues,' Elizabeth Johnson said. 'I just wanted names...but he took it a step further and went and gathered her at lunch. And shes been eating with them ever since!'
Now the team watches out for Chy all day, and she's not longer the target of bullies.
Chy Johnson and Carson Jones will be acknowledged by the Arizona State Legislature in 2013 for their anti-bullying efforts, and the Bulldogs have been nominated for the America's Team award for their good works.
'Theyre not mean to me, because all my boys love me,' Chy said. So much.

Thanks!! It’s wonderful to read this after spending some time today catching up on the Steubenville Big Red rape case.
It’s nice to see some good kids getting attention. :)
There’s a lot more gained from HS organized athetics than just entertainment on the field or court. There’s lesson that stay with these young people for the rest of their lives.
Nice story. Thanks for posting.
A high school football team does more to protect than the Obama Administration does . . .
Excellence is found in some 18 year olds. Thank you for the story. Does the heart good.
Fine young men. I’d be willing to bet a lot that they both were raised by conservatives.
Well what do you know. There’s still some good left in this world.
Several of these young men live in my neighborhood. I know Tucker’s parents well from church. There are good people in this world, we just don’t hear about them as much as we should.
