Political suicide?
President Obama appeared on the Tonight Show last night where he admitted that he's leaning toward rooting for the Detroit Tigers in the World Series. And what a real slap in the face this is to San Francisco, which has practically bankrolled his 2012 presidential campaign.
His words exactly:
"I will say, I've spent a lot of time in Detroit lately, and I didn't want to let Detroit go bankrupt. So in this particular World Series, I might be a little partial," Obama said in comments taped before the Tigers lost the opening game of the series to the San Francisco Giants.
Clearly, the president isn't worried about losing the Bay Area vote.

Nor should he be, really. San Francisco can't get enough of Obama, which is maybe why he and his wife, Michelle, have made many, many campaign stops here, treating us like the ATMs we are. To date, San Francisco has dumped more than $11 million into the president's campaign coffers and Oakland kicked in another $6 million.
Detroit, on the other hand, contributed a measly $2 million to Obama, while handing over $4 million to Mitt Romney. And it's not as if the mayor of Motor City has had kind things to say about the president; just last month, Dave Bing was lambasting Obama for not paying enough attention to Detroit. (Wait, did he already forget about that monstrous $80 billion auto bailout?)
Well, hopefully all our hard-earned money will pay off in this election, and Obama won't get his ass kicked like the Tigers did last night.
SF fans prefer the manager anyway...
I was wondering why they are losing . . . now I know.
The N0bama curse.
Gee, thanks, you incumbent incompetent!
Obama doing what he does best - picking losers.
Go Giants!
Obama has the reverse Midas touch - everything he touches turns to shit.
Verlander might win one for the Tigers tonight, but it’s just putting off the inevitable.
Scherzer is pitching tonight, and he is close to being in the same league with Verlander. Unfortunately, the best pitcher in the world cannot prevail when the rest of the team is impersonating a dead cockroach on its back with legs sticking straight up.
I guess the magic number is going to be 163 . . .
Looks like Obama really screwed Detroit.
Thanks Obama, for jinxing the Tigers, you loser.
Everything this guy touches turns to s—t.
You are right. The Tigers lost in four.
