For my money you can't beat the combination of Microsoft's Windows Defender/Security Essentials and Malware Bytes. If used right those two will get rid of anything bad.

I bought an iMac a little over a year and a half ago.
After over 30 years of putting up with Windows and all it's updates and virus headaches, it's one of the best moves I've made.
