I now firmly believe Mitt Romney will win the election. Why? Because the economy is so bad... How bad? Today I happened to be in Malibu (long story) and saw a Romney bumper sticker...on a Prius...in Malibu CA. When things are that bad, that even west coast liberals are supporting the challenger, you know the incumbent is done.
Hah. I dig the profile as well.
Word has it that ‘0bama 2012’ bumper stickers in Southern California are not a common sight, unlike 2008. A one hour drive on their busiest freeway (405) in medium traffic only yielded ONE sticker.. ONE. Quite a contrast from 2008. I’m guessing 0bama’s support in Cal. will be down as much as 40% from 2008. There’s no telling what the Fascists will do in the North, however.
and......I install DirecTV. I drive all over Michigan. While in Kalamazoo the other day with my father, I drove through the North end of the city which is pretty much all other colors of skin that I dont have. I went two miles and saw 2 obama signs. That may not seem like much but back after Obama won the last election, that same stretch of road was littered with Obama signs which were given to them and also homemade. most of those signs stayed up for at least a year and were only taken down because the people had to mow around them or they just broke from the weather here in Michigan. There is a serious degradation in voter motivation in this presidential election cycle. Even my neighbors who are hard core libs have confessed they are not supporting The One this time. People are PISSED and that is a statistic you cannot judge in a poll. It just shows up in the count.
I happen to know the guy in Malibu who drives a Pious with a Romney sticker. (Long story.) He’s my cousin. He is the only registered Republican there and the Pious is... GASP! stolen from Berkeley.
The 25,000 Pound Gorilla in the room wants to know which Romney we will get? here’s hoping he is going to do the right thing.
It’s odd, I live in a conservative area, will go 58-59% Republican, yet I see Obama stickers all over. Don’t understand this but the local vote will not reflect it.
your a$$ ain’t safe bro. Move ;)
I am in Columbia, MO—fairly liberal college town (but not totally off the reservation) and it was plastered wall to wall with Obama crap in 2008. It was ridiculous. The entire town looked like a giant ad for Obama. This year, there are more Romney signs up. I have maybe, and I mean maybe seen 10-15 Obama signs in yards and a handful of bumper stickers.
In another surprise, even here, there are more Akin signs than McCaskill. I think Akin will still win, but had he not gaffed, he would have won by 10-12 points.
When Obama first took office, my Democrat neighbors said “You watch what he does with the economy!” Now they are never voting Democrat again because all the Democrats passed Obamacare and screwed them as seniors and they are upset with him over his suing AZ over illegals. Their son told them about the movie 2016. They know this man is dangerous and I was shocked when the wife told me she liked Newt Gingrich! I know they are not voting for Obama but now I am trying to get them to vote for Romney. Still working on it. They think he is too rich and does not care about the little people.
Dude, anecdotes, yours and mine are as good as the polls. And as bad. We dunno. Simply dunno. The nation has been dummied up, and that I find troubling.
My friend is a senior official with UPS's Southern California customs office.
His nephews are both film students at USC and are making a film set in WW2 for their graduation project. Since I'm a military historian who specializes in WW2, they come to me with any technical questions. I was out there a few weeks back and they showed me some of their rough shots; it doesn't look too shabby. I can't wait to see the finished product.
There are no where near the volume of Obama stickers throughout S. California this time. They just aren’t there this time. Who wants to put a sticker on the car telling the world that they support this level of unemployment, this level of economic growth, etc.?
Right in front of the Arclight is the Hollywood Film School (loserville as USC film students call it) and I thought that corner bldg, was a retail-only bldg as right below where your friend is was the former Borders store I used to frequent (they always made sure every anti-Bush book was out front but I miss reading the mangas though).
Cool! Is it white, and was it parked on the PCH this afternoon?
Today I drove from Richmond,VA to Pittsburgh,PA...six hours on the road in four states and saw two cars with Obama stickers ( saw three with Romney). Last weekend was at the Richmond Folk Festival, which attracts many thousands, and saw only one Obama button worn by a gray-bearded troll. A couple of weeks before that I was at a popular weekend farmers market in the city of Richmond and the only Obama gear I saw was another old putz in an Obama t-shirt. Four years ago that market would have been Obama Central...something big is happening out there but I dare not put it in words.
It is indeed white, but where it was parked this afternoon, I couldn’t tell you.
Saw a Romney sticker on a Volt smack dab in the heart of Sillycon Valley a few weeks back.
The first floor is retail; I think there’s a Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Jersey Mikes, and the Wolfslair Biergarten on the first floor. The upper floors are apartments and only residents can get up there.
Oh yeah. I’d never say take it easy, we got this. We have to keep working, keep pushing. We are not just trying to defeat obama, but this whole insane big government socialist liberal nightmare. As long as there are history-ignorant fools and would-be fascists out there trying to push the liberal agenda, we need to keep fighting for our freedoms.
Yours is a right salty profile, yes, it is! Glad to meet a sane person who works in Hollywood. May you take the helm of a movie studio and do us Americans proud!
