How do you know it was a one-time action? One of the tenets of Mormon belief (and Christian) is you don’t blow your own horn. If you do things for the praise of men, you have your reward.
We do know that it is a one time deal that he did for the powerful Mormon at Bain, and nothing that Romney does positive is kept secret.
It is like when he helped in that video about the tree trunk after the fire in San Diego.
The Romneys called the fellow Mormon and asked to come over and help him, when he said that he was already pretty much finished the Romneys kept pushing him to let them come over and do something, so he let them do the stump.
It was an all Mormon event, arranged by the Romneys, when they could have done something more useful at non-Mormon houses in the fire damaged neighborhood.
This neighborhood is part of my work area, rather than pressure this Mormon, the Romneys could have simply verified that someone else within sight of his home needed help and come and done it.
This was about Mormonism and a presidential campaign, not randomly helping a stranger.
I do not think this is a Mormon rite only. Isn’t the saying in the gospel something about “storing treasues on Earth instead of Heaven,” Book of Matthew, maybe?
That is funny.
But hey, they don’t have to, do they, they’ve got the Romney lab dogs to do it for them.
