Most of the stuff you get at the supermarket is trash.
You can also raise your own bees. It’s a pain given all the exotic pests, but they’re really a cool bug. And you’ll get the most expensive “free” local honey available

JDB just got into beekeeping over the last year or so, and has posted some good info in the past. She was hosting the FR garden ping list for several months; but she hasn't posted in a while. You might post this suggestion on the garden thread to see if it generates any interest...I think it will...I'm looking into it, myself. Honey is certainly good for you, and a couple of hives have the added benefits of keeping kids, dogs and annoying neighbors off your property. :-)
