When I worked for the GOP back in the 1990s I would often run into Grover Cleveland’s son Francis who lived in NH. He used to show up at GOP meetings. Nice old guy. It was strange talking to the son of an American president from the 1880s in in the 1990s.

This reminds me of hearing about President Tyler who knew some of the founding fathers yet has a grandson alive today or he just recently died, i think.President Tyler had 19 kids and the youngest was born when he was much older... it is amazing how not that long ago some of these things were.Just seems like way back because of all the advances in technology, etc.

I believe that Harrison Tyler is still living. His grandfather was John Tyler, 10th President of the United States.

Grover Cleveland might well have been the last Democrat worth voting for! Unfortunately, McKinley won the next election with TR as his VP - the beginning of the Progressive era in the United States.

Hard to believe.

Maybe harder to believe: somebody in education and the arts who was a Republican for 50 years, though it looks like theater became a sideline for him.

John Tyler (1790-1862, President 1841-1845) still has living grandchildren. A granddaughter of James Garfield is also still alive, and somewhere out there still hanging on are at least two children of Civil War veterans.
