No, he didn’t have anything with him except a clip board. He seemed very legit to me, just going to people’s homes with Romney signs making sure they were going to vote. I am glad they were doing that. We had no outreach whatsoever in 2008 with McCain.
The guy asking to take our picture was just weird. Who would agree to that?
You did the right thing. No way, no how a stranger is going to take a picture of me in my yard next to a political sign. Too many crazies out there.
You’d be shocked at what people can get away with, provided they “look” legitimate, uniform, and yes, a clipboard.
One classic example was some fellows who pulled up to a 7-11 in a van and some kind of uniforms and said “We’re here to pick up the ATM”. No problem, the clerk even helped them load it up. Just sayin’.
Yeah, the whole thing sounds hinky. Don’t talk to pollsters on the telephone, either imo., ever. Think about this for a minute, how people are genuinely flattered when complete strangers ask intimate personal questions, and then sell this data, etc.
Nutty as hell.
I’ve knocked on thousands of doors for GOP candidates over the years and I’ve NEVER heard anything remotely like that. Sounds like they may have tried to target you for something unsavory.
SWATing on November 6th.
What is ODD....is that someone comes to the door of someone WITH A ROMNEY sign IN THEIR YARD...and asks THEM if THEY are going to vote....That, to me, is weird. People with signs in their yards are the most motivated.
