I NEVER liked it when “America’s team” won by ANY score. Even though Staubach was a fellow ex-navy man (and a fine gentleman), I hated him and his team! Back then the NFC East was always a tough division - except for the Cardinals.
Vince Lombardi became coach of the Skins in 69 before he died a year later but he started the team on its way. They were good in the mid-late 70’s with George Allen and great in the 80’s with Gibbs; after that, not so much.
Now living in South Jersey, my son-in-law keeps trying to get me to like the Eagles. NO WAY!
