Wipe Out brushless bore cleaner is the best stuff for rifles, and less messy. Use Break Free for lube, etc. The two best things for cleaning gun parts, carbon, etc is automotive BrakeKleen and Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner with very hot water. On semi autos, it’s hard to beat a good cleanup with BrakeKleen followed by scrubbing bubbles and hot water, and lube with Break Free.

The Wipe out is a foam, spray it down the bore, and leave it overnight. Just use a patch in the morning, great for copper jacket fouling. On rifles that I shoot a lot, a once or twice a year scrubbing with JB bore paste is good for ground in powder fouling.
