I was doing my Genealogy and according to Ancestry.com I went back 80 generations. Some of these records are quite amazing. It really makes you wonder how these people lived.
Assyrians were bad, bad dudes. But that didn’t stop the Lord from trying to save them.

I have some ancestors going back into Egypt and Iraq, but the records are scanty, once one is no longer part of the Royalty, in any country.
A couple of years ago British Top Gear’s Christmas special was the “three wise men” motoring from Arbil to Bethlehem. Lots of jokes about the dangers of Iraq and body armor until it became plain that Kurdistan is actually quite safe. Of course, they did not take the direct route . . . .
