Due to high taxes, burdensome regulations, lack of public sector reforms, and a lackluster job climate, more people have left California than come to the state since 2005, according to a comprehensive study by the Manhattan Institute released on Tuesday, suggesting California is no longer “perceived by most Americans as the land where dreams come true.”
In the report, titled “The Great California Exodus: A Closer Look," Tom Gray and Robert Scardamalia found Californians have fled to states like Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina, and Georgia because those states have a better economic climate with less taxes and regulation.

These Californication people are moving into Texas in droves. Selling their 300K dollar trailer houses, buying up brush country and hill country land, inflating the cost of our property.
This is only inflating property value on property that I own that had a book value of $1200/acre value 5 years ago now to over $8000/acre for BRUSH country.
Worse than that they bring their liberal values and want to recreate their utopia that they so hated in the non-State they just left.

UNDERSTAND, please, that we had a nice little state here until the liberals from all of YOUR states swarmed in on us and forced liberal crap down our throats. These people are the “children” of YOUR STATES, and we did NOT ask them to come here!
Then, the liberals moved here and took over S.F. and L.A. The reswwt of our state is just as conservative as it always was.
We can only hope the ones leaving are the liberals that ruined this state in the first place. If the conservatives are left in charge again, maybe we can put it back together.
That’s right - we have been California Conservatives like my husbands family some four generations now. We love our home and hate those whom have come from somewhere else to force liberalism on us!
The commie a$$hat$ better not wreck the moral culture of Texas which somewhat accomodates independence - lower taxes. Bet they wreck things out of their cultural ignorance.
I think many GOP-leaning voters left CA...Many liberals then replaced them...Just my theory...
