I don’t go to weddings much, either - the last one was a church wedding for a couple in our congregation who had been legally married (in Mexico) at least 15 years earlier. It was lovely, but we couldn’t go to the reception because of some schedule issue.

With ten children, we’re bound to be involved in a wedding at some point! The trend in my family, for both marriages and deaths, has been to have an immediate-family church ceremony, with a reception at a location and date convenient for the larger constellation of family and friends.

And I get lots of book recommendations on FR. There used to be a quarterly “What are you reading?” thread that always had good ideas, but I may have missed it last time. I recently re-read “The Razor’s Edge” by Somerset Maugham, which I read originally in high school. Liked it then, liked it now, although for different reasons ;-). It was mentioned on a thread about Bill Murray, because he starred in a pretty-good movie version.
