Exactly. I so prefer to stay at home and do the stuff that needs doing here. The only exceptions are when we go to the volunteer fire department fish fries or to visit our combat-vet neighbor or go to Tea Party events.

Ha! Talked to an old desert buddy who told me that the temp would descend to the 90’s today and to the 80’s next week. Sweater and quilted coat time for her!
Have they contained the fires? Please excuse—am just now catching up.

My furniture is speaking blasphemous utterings at me. I wouldn't worry unless it's the washing machine.

The time to worry is when they all go quiet.

I think Barack Obama would be a good Smaug: greedy, self-centered, egotistical and destructive ... persuasive to the confused, envious, and not-very-bright ... acquisitive, but with no taste. He'd be perfect.
Someone should tell him he needn't be unemployed come Jan 20th...

Smaug didn’t have to read a Teleprompter, though, putting him several steps above the pathetically inarticulate Zero. (There is dispute about whether dragons can read at all.)

One of the passages about Smaug mentions that he knows the market value of all the treasure he’s collected, but he has no idea of craftmanship or aesthetics. Doesn’t that sound like Barry and Michelle ... especially her, with her expensive clothes that look like she chose them blindfolded from the racks at Goodwill.

Ah, Friday!
It’s almost as good as intravenous coffee.

I’m lucky if I can fix a meal more than once a week. That and doing the dishes after same tires me out for at least three days.
As for a social life, it is non-existent. I haven’t even been to a movie since The Return of the King.

Oh, okers.
My cat Mimi, on the night she passed on, made rounds around the house nuzzling everybody.
She didn’t make it to morning.
