It’s probably also a shot at Geoffrey Immelt, CEO of GE (NBC’s parent company). Jay’s not taking his financial downgrade lightly anymore...
I wasn’t so surprised by the laughter, suspecting that they have a laugh track cued up half the time anyway. What surprised me is that instead of a few scattered boos, you could hear whistles and other sounds of approval, above the sound of the laughter, and I couldn’t pick out a single boo.
Things they are a-changing, I think. I’m wondering if the MSM hasn’t finally jumped the shark in their effort to paint support for Obama as overwhelming, and growing. The average person, in talking to others, has to realize that this definitely isn’t 2008, when no one spoke well of Bush’s performance, and many had high hopes for Obama.
Now, although Republicans are nervous about what Romney might do (which Romney will we get?), those high hopes have been completely dashed and you just don’t hear many praising Obama outright any more.
Incidentally, the Obamaphone lady has gathered over a million hits since it Drudge linked to it yesterday. Drudge is becoming a real factor in this election; he’s the only one besides RealClearPolitics who will link to good and bad stories for both sides. Of course, libs think he’s on the right because he’s willing to criticize Dems.
