One out of a thousand NEED the food stamps? Where did you come up with that number?
And for all of you who think people get food stamps while making a lot of money, why don’t you go online to your state web site and look up how much money you’re allowed to make and get food stamps. I believe a family of one cannot earn over $900 per month. A little more with more dependents but not enough to live on. I think this family is getting around $500 a month for food depending on how much income the father brings in. Now, I know people are going to say “they should be able to get by on $500 a month in food”{. Well, they do. But what if they didn’t get the $500?
We’re in a terrble economy. People are hurting. And I’d bet my last dollar that there are just as many people on food stamps and want off as there are who like being on the program

You have no idea what I see in my town which has plenty of jobs but plenty more freeloaders. You have zero idea what I have done in my life, during the worst of times. Spare me the fake prayers and fake sympathy as well.
For all those whiners on this thread — you sound just as bad as at the Yahoo board. Since when did it become acceptable to encourage stealing taxpayer money? Or did all the Obama entitlement commercials get to your heads?

There are more ways than a few to work under the table for cash and still get food stamps (if they work at all). There are also more ways than a few to get unemployment, disability, etc. and these leeches know how to do it. They may not know (or want to know) how to get a job but they are experts at getting “FREE” stuff!
Many of them have four and five “FREE” phones just by using more than one name. There is nothing they won’t do for “FREE” stuff. I know that for a fact!
