This week's feature is an excellent portrayal of how the cynical media manipulates(or at least certainly tries to and often succeeds at) the masses to advance their own agendas. From 1941 and involving 3 classic Hollywood legends (Cooper, Stanwyck, and Capra) who were all Republicans.
Good flick.
the movie shows how a rich man, like George Soros, could use a stooge to advance his political agenda. The stooge in the movie realized he was being used. Obama either doesn’t know he’s being used or doesn’t care.
Classic movie alert?
Exactly. This 71 year old film is not dated in the least.
The Edward Arnold character is Soros, but Coop is more like a bitter clinger coal miner who’s lost his job thanks to Obama’s green energy scam than the O himself. Obama’s a slick collaborator, not a stooge. And the John Doe Clubs are more like OWS than the Tea Party.
BTTT
A great film. I usually save the threads for 8pm movies on tcm...but not always. Thanks for the thought.
