“Why can’t you seem to see that Roy Masters is not a theologian, he has NO formal training nor study of the faith or the Scriptures?”

Could you tell me where Jesus (The Son of God) got his formal training in the Scriptures?

Or many of the other disciples who were simple fisherman?

Yes, they did not. They were not learned men, they were laborers and such and they were blessed on Pentecost, just as we should all be once we become reborn. They are making salvation an intellectual experience without realizing it as they are so immersed in that.

Are these supposed to be hard questions?

Could you tell me where Jesus (The Son of God) got his formal training in the Scriptures?

First of all, Jesus IS the Word (the LOGOS). Second, Jesus IS God in the flesh (incarnate) and all Scripture is GOD-breathed, which makes Jesus VERY familiar with Scripture. Simply read any of the gospels to see that Jesus knew the Scriptures better than any religious leader could even think. He even knew the SPIRIT of the word and not just the letter, which, if I remember is what Mr. Masters claims he can do too and which he insists his followers should also progress enough to be able to do. The thing is, you have to know the Scriptures first before you can understand them. Jesus, for example, answered every one of Satan's temptations with, "It is written...". That should give you an idea of the importance of the Scriptures. The WORD has power, don't let anyone convince you it doesn't.

Or many of the other disciples who were simple fisherman?

Simple, they sat at the feet of Jesus for three years! How could they NOT know the Scriptures? Not to mention, most, though they might have been fisherman, were STILL observant Jews, who had been raised in the Temple, knowing the Old Testament. Jesus taught them the fulfillment of those words and he also taught them new truths regarding himself and God's plans for the church age. When Jesus was about to leave them to ascend to heaven, he said he would send the Holy Spirit, who would bring to their remembrance all that he had taught them and also:

But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 14:26)

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me, and you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. (John 15:26,27)

And, also this was written by Luke in the book of Acts:

I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:1-8)
