The dead staffer was, in all likelihood, a Marine guard. When the Libyans bugged out, the Marines would assume complete responsibility for defending the compound.

If we had an actual president in the White House (instead of a pandering apologist), the Marine FAST team would be en route to the embassy, with or without the Libyans’ permission.

If we had a real president the Embassy would have been evacuated months ago.

Any idiot knows you do not leave civilians in a country mired in a civil war. You certainly do not leave classified material in an embassy (any embassy that is staffed is likely have classified communications coming and going constantly) that can be overrun at any time by rebel forces.
