I have been predicting for some time now that the story of the election will be the lack of turnout on the part of blacks. I have been positing that blacks are embarrassed by him, based on my interaction with a number of blacks that I have watched go from avid support to a noticeable lack of enthusiasm for him.

You're on to something. One of my coworkers practically erected a shrine to Obama after he won. Everything but candles and incense (only because the building management wouldn't allow it.) I stopped by her office the other day and was surprised to see that the shrine has disappeared. All the pictures she had of him... gone.

I’m just not comfortable with that.

The Arabs have a saying something like, “My brother and I against one another. My brother and I against anyone else.”

No matter how embarrassed they are they will vote for him. He is one of them and they believe he is their only hope. They will never let him go.
