Man Nearly Died by Shipping Himself to Girlfriend (As a Romantic Gesture)
AsiaOne ^ | Tuesday, Sep 04, 2012

A man from Chongqing in Southern China nearly suffocated to death after a romantic gesture to his girlfriend went wrong.

Mr Hu Seng had asked his friend to tape him into a box so he could ship himself via a courier service to his girlfriend, Li Wang.

However, the romantic gesture turned into a life-threatening event for Mr Hu when the courier company mixed up the address with another delivery.

The 30-minute wait turned into a three-hour ordeal for Mr Hu.

The material of the box was reportedly too thick for him to make any breathing holes while inside and he did not want to spoil the surprise by calling for attention.

When the box arrived at Li Wang's place, his friend was poised to record the event.

However, they found Mr Hu unconscious and looking pale upon opening the package.

Subsequently, paramedics were called over to her apartment to revive him.

He admitted, "I didn't realise it would take so long."

The courier company said they would not have accepted this delivery if they had known there was a person inside.

The spokesperson said that even for animals, a special container would be used so they can breathe properly.

We’re so used to cat fur that it doesn’t even register, but the presence of a long-haired dog makes a real difference.

I’m always pleasantly surprised when I manage to upload pictures successfully.

Those are beautiful cars. I’ll have to show all the pics to the byos later. Was that a DeLorean I saw? It looks like it’s moving when it isn’t!

Yes, that was a DeLorean! It was actually one of two at Barrett-Jackson, but to my surprise, there was a third one here, in little dinky Hooterville!

I know not many were made, and there is quite a scandal behind the manufacturing of said cars, but I will have to look it up, I guess.

Morning (for a few more minutes, Eastern time). I chose that kitteh for his exceptionally smug expression.

I’m not sure how our schedule for the rest of day is going to work without bilocation, so if I don’t come back, it wasn’t you ...

The winds have picked up big time today. The fire is 3 miles away from town. Really bad smoke right now. Road still closed. Phones have been on.

Nothing makes a cat happier than being where he shouldn’t be!

We have too many dogs this week: our poor old greyhound and Anoreth’s husky. The husky is gorgeous, of course - she’s a retired breeder from a show kennel - but she sheds like a snowstorm.

“Don’t just stand there, invite Altariel over to the Undead Thread...”

I dunno, the place is weird, strange things happen over there.
And the walls talk!
They have nothing to say except bad Elvis impersonations, but they talk incessantly!

” sheds like a snowstorm.”

Has Jake taken offense over being shed on yet?

Jake is spending his days upstairs and his nights outside until the unwelcome guest leaves.

So he is no fan of “that drooling walking rug”?
So Jake is a dog breedist, he only likes certain dogs?

Has he done an outraged huff?
[My Kearen did an outraged huff that made it sound like she was saying “Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!” I’d dared to move her toys.]

Piper doesn’t drool much - and neither does Ash, for a hound - but she’s a strange large mammal and smells funny. Ash was already here when we got Jake as a kitten, so she’s “furniture” to him, unless they’re in the kitchen competing for meat. Piper is Something Else.

Jake tried to pee in the laundry basket to show his displeasure, but I grabbed him and put him outside. No outraged Huff, but lots of *sniff sniff* “Meh ...”.

“Piper is Something Else”

Jake is convinced that Piper is from some otherly place and thus is an abomination?
Yowzers.
Remind me not to introduce Jake kitty to the Cthulhu mythos.

Huskies are gorgeous, but then, so are greyhounds. I may be a bit partial. :)

Our dogs have short hair, but the amount that they shed is almost beyond belief.

(could the problem be related to my poor housekeeping?)
