The conclusion that should be reached from the article is that we may need to look for a third (not counting denisovan man) hominid that would account for Asperger traits rather than autism traits. Autism and Aspergers are grouped together because they seem to have many of the same or similar “dysfunctions”. Aspergers and Autism have been grouped incorrectly in my opinion. There are some major differences in the two disorders.

Aspergers has no speech delay associated with it.

Aspergers are not anti social while those with autism are. Those people with Aspergers are social with smaller groups and form more intense bonds along lines of common interest.

Aspergers are obsessive but can switch obsessions much more easily than those with autism. Many Autistics can not function on any level outside of their single narrow focus.

The biggest difference is cognitive. Many with autism have some form of retardation associated with their disorder. Aspergers is not symptomatic in low intelligence individuals.

Your desire for another human group is not that far fetched. (As you know) The Denisovans are new and I just read about another extinct human that was found in only the genes of Africans... DNA will open many more doors.
