Maybe yes, maybe no. Obama has been successful in demonizing anyone who expresses any doubt about his "real" BC, the one that Obama felt obliged to produce after being pressured by Trump. Before that, we were told no such document existed, only the short form. Arpaio has proven conclusively to me, that the WH issued BC is an electronic composite and was never produced by the state of Hawaii in that form.
The best defense is a good offense. Obama and his handlers coined the word "birthers" to intimidate and ridicule just like the left coined "deniers" who were skeptical about global warming. It was meant to draw a link to Holocaust deniers.
Obama knows that a very sizeable portion of the public does not believe his BC story or that he is even a Christian. Rightly or wrongly, Obama knows that such doubt is not good for him.
And as details come out about the discrepancies in his personal narrative (autobiography) and the discovery that for almost 17 years his literary agent listed him as being born in Kenya and early newspaper stories saying the same thing, there is the assumption that Obama is hiding something.
IMO Obama has gone after the Romney tax returns in much the same way that he has attacked the birthers. Obama accuses Romney of being secretive while at the same time sealing many of his school and medical records. The idea is to put Romney on the defensive. When Romney made his joke about his and his wife's BC, the Obama campaign immediately attacked him and the MSM, by and large, jumped in. So Romney, on the defensive, had to say that he believes Obama was born in the US. Obama gets every major Rep leader to say the same thing.
Forget the fact that the WH website sells coffee cups and tee shirts saying "Made in the US" with Obama's picture. Obama can joke about his BC, but it is Whack-a-Mole for anyone else. Even talk radio is intimidated. Rush, Hannity, Levin, et. al. are afraid to touch it. I can't recall any of them mentioning the two Arpaio press conferences. The next one is set for September in Phoenix.
No doubt the BC issue is a distraction and a way to make the other side out as a bunch of loons, but if something does come out that shows that he was born elsewhere or attended college pretending to be a foreign student or using a phony SS, then he is toast. He knows it.
