So...you both were saying? I was responding to somwone who was comparing it to Katrina. My answer should have been more complete.
There is no way this hurricane can approach the size and energy of Katrina.
The Gulf was about 5 degrees warmer for Katrina than for Isaac. That is an amazing amount energy difference.

It's not all about total wind speed. All this hurricane has to do is shift a wee bit more to the west for eye wall to pass over NO . Cat 3 eye wall passing directly over NOLA , especially the north west eye wall where the strongest winds are would destroy destroy those levees and fill that fish bowl . I would not count on a bunch of pumps run by the government to save me .
If you are in the NOLA area the time to get out is NOW.
