Leave it to The LORD God Almighty to make something as incredibly functional, minute, and hidden as DNA to be lovely. It looks like a beautiful necklace any lady would be happy to wear.
Whenever I have worked with DNA, it looked nothing like that picture. A small amount looks like a speck of dust. A slightly larger amount looks like a yellowish smudge on the side of a tube. I've purchased purified DNA that looked like a thick stranded cotton ball.
No one has ever seen that double helix. Much like the process of evolution, the structure of DNA was determined through indirect observation, deductive reasoning, and lots of hypothesis testing.
