Because of Curiosity and its mission to find signs of life on Mars. See my previous post.

Why is NASA calling DNA a part of Astronomy? Because the Moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars.

Why is NASA calling DNA a part of Astronomy? I wondered a similar thing, when I went to Yellowstone this spring and saw that several projects at the park were funded by NASA. Apparently, NASA funds research into extremophiles (microorganisms that live in extreme conditions, e.g. in heat or salt) as part of an effort to understand what extraterrestrial life may be like.
