Remember that a vote for TARP was a vote to buy up the toxic assets that were created by bad govt. policy in the first place. He wasn’t voting to take over companies and if that was the case I don’t think it ever would have passed. I still think he was wrong but you gotta remember the context.
Obama later decided unilaterally that he could use the TARP money for whatever he damn well pleased.
I’m with you on the bailout vote but his overall economic philosophy seems to be sound to me.

The drug bill bothers me somewhat too. He is definitely a Mr. Spender. But I will vote for him in November.....Again voting for the VP and not the President.
Tarp was to be repaid, and was. I stopped looking for perfection when I decided that I was it. No matter who he would have chosen, someone would bitch and moan about it....pathetic
