There seems to me to be a growing problem with animal activists who do not want to kill any animal. This includes animals that are positive with diseases.
There was a cat at the “no kill” shelter that they had up for adoption that had feline leukemia or whatever the contagious disease is. The notice that the cat was to be the only pet and all that seemed ridiculous. Cats can and do get out all the time.

Well...leukemia is a short death sentence for cats...but if it were my pet, i would not put it down until the symptoms got too bad. It is very contagious, so I can see why they would want to put it down if in a facility with healthy cats. It depends on the facility...if they are equipped or not. Feline Aids is not a death sentence...it just means the cat is a carrier but may never show symptoms.

Yes, people dump, leave behind, relocate cats and cats are good at escaping. I would hate to know that there are people out there who would shoot my cat if it got out...when all she was trying to do was get help from someone. It is heartbreaking how cruel and heartless people are...
