She thought that giving animals saints names was NOT TO BE DONE.
Aww, heck. If geographical locations, buildings, boats etc. can be dedicated to the holiness of a saint, why not a loved cat or dog, living creatures made by God?
Although if you have a BAD kitty or doggie, names like Nero, Diocletian, Madame DuFarge or Rasputin might be called for.

Had a really hard time naming our new puppy. Son chose Ollie after Oliver North. I call him Oliver, but I still occasionally call him Max after the dog we lost a few months ago.

But above and beyond theres still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover -
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
I heard that recited in, of all places, the schlocky sci-fi movie Logan's Run. Peter Ustinov, playing an old forgotten man living on his own with cats in the U.S. Capitol, recited it to Logan 5 and Jessica.

Brandy and Wine, a battle George Washington lost, but what the heck, he made up for it later.
Any time one of them gets out and lost, you can stand on your front steps and yell, “BRANDY, BRANDY”, or “WINE, WINE.”
I’m sure your neighbors will be glad to supply what they presume to be your need.

Years ago, I got an email from a newspaper story about a family who had two kittens. They named the white kitten Angel and the black kitten Satan.
Satan disappeared and they assumed he got outside and was lost. What really happened is he got into the wall through a hole during a renovation project.
The story had really cute quotes from the daughter. “I miss Satan.” “Mama, I think I hear Satan in the wall!”

Congratulations! We have a brother and sister that we got as babies. They are six years now and one minute they are giving each other a bath and the next minute they are beating the crap of each other. Girl cat likes to play the victim if we’re watching - but she can hold her own. Girl cat is a Daddy’s girl and Boy cat is a Mamma’s boy. So everyone is happy.
