I find basic errors of spelling and grammar in major newspapers on a regular basis. Do they even have copy editors anymore? If they do, do the copy editors take any pride in their work?
They do not take pride in their work. Syntax is disgusting; spelling is atrocious! I wonder if it is not done with pride and arrogance - ‘Forget the rules! Who needs them?”
