I think the searchers need to face the growing likelihood that they’re not going to find Amelia Earhart alive and will sadly have to declare her to be legally dead.

Needle in a haystack, or worse.
The Pacific is a pretty big place, and despite all the “clues” and “hints” she could have gone down anywhere.

Hey people: Amelia was a lousy pilot - look at all the blanking crashes she had. She and Noonan are dead because she wasn't up to the job. Poor Noonan was just dumb enough to fly with her and paid for it with his life.
There were far better lady pilots out there back then but she had the better press agent and moneyed sponsors. A lack of talent in the air inevitably ends badly.

I doubt that conclusive evidence of Earhart's fate will be found. However, this group has made some tantalizing finds which combined with reports now lost human remains being found earlier on this island and reports of radio transmissions from Earhart after her presumed loss at sea gives a lot of credence to their theory she and Noonan crashed landed there and were marooned for a time.
