As for your assumption/implication I am merely another grunting, snorting, male chauvanist pig, I came from a family of women where upper level performance was a given. Mon was in college in a state far from home when she was fifteen, not taking a course at the local J. C. Same for my sister. Both were considered to have reached the top of their professions.
As for shootists in specific, I was engaged to a red headed school teacher who held a Biancci Cup record.
She would agree with me that women have more trouble with the .45ACP than men due to weaker upper body structure and weaker soft tissue.
As aNRA pistol instructor, please allow me to tell you that among instructors where are many stories of cute little females who were told about trigger squeeze, sight control, breath control, etc. And then picked up the gun and did exactly what they had been instructed. Result? Scores they left the instructor amazed.
A sweet 16 Russian girl emptied a Taurus snubby into a dinner plate for the third time, and most shots were in the center. Not too shabby for her first time with a firearm. As she finished the last shot, she lowered the gun and turned her head to me (note, the gun remained downrange) and said “Is there anything here we could hunt?”
I was the instructor that time. But she was the exception. Many younger females have trouble squeezing the trigger of a large double action revolver. One such teen female was a tennis competitor and could not squeeze the trigger on an AMT .45 ACP Backup. Admittedly, it has a 17 pound trigger, but no male under80 has not been able to so do.
