We cannot survive 4 more years of Obama. Period. To enable that in any way is anathema. I will never vote for a third party.and if it’s Virgil Goode you are hawking, that is a total nonstarter. I LIVE in Virginia And no one knows who he is.

I have lived in DC suburbs for 34 years. I am not a political neophyte. My husband worked as counsel on the senate judiciary committee during three sup ct nominations. We are both lawyers and we know exactly what is at stake in this election. We cannot afford idealistic votes for a losing third party candidate. All three of my kids will be old enough to vote republican in this election. My 18 yo daughter is interning at the fairfax co. Romney HQ this summer, making calls and knocking on doors. I have never done political work in my life, but she is passionate about this. Are we Mittbots? Not remotely. We are pragmatists convinced that defeating Obama is vital.
The USA is not CA.

The USA is not CA.

Sadly, it is.

Whose win are you looking for the third party to weaken? And which third party candidate are you supporting?

Okay I’ve read some of Finny’s posts and I see he’s relying on more than one erroneous premise. Sorry but even assuming arguendo that USA=CA, the strategy is extremely faulty. Did Ross Perot’s candidacy result in a weakened presidency? To think that the supreme narcissist Obama would be chastened/reined in by a close win is ludicrous. He’s incapable of embarrassment and he will press ahead with his socialist agenda with a one vote margin. To think otherwise is dreamland. And the assumption that Romney’s a shoo-in, is also erroneous.

Maybe we should ping Finny, as long as we’re talking about her.

She makes good sense to me.

I have never even heard of him and I’m a political junky. Gary Johnson has more of a prayer of taking Romney votes. I pray that Romney has a shot at winning but it is FAR from a sure thing. Do you think Obama is going to lay down and take defeat? There’s NOTHING he won’t do to win. Nothing too low/destructive/dramatic. The far left is not going to give up the reins of power. They just won’t.

You’ve been pinging and I don’t see her weighing in. It’s the difference between pragmatism and idealism and I cannot be anything but pragmatic. I fundamentally disagree with all of her premises.

Oh good God - you 10 freepers who are voting for Hoefling and bashing us for attempting to unseat obama are just pathetic. You remind me of 8 year old who are angry their Mommies won't let them do something so they whine none of the rest of us should get to do it either.

Waste your vote if you want to -but quit attacking those of us who are trying to get rid of a KNOWN socialist.

Freeper or not, I will not vote for someone who has ZERO chance of winning. There really isn’t any point of discussing this as third parties make my head want to explode. I respect your right to vote as you see fit, no matter how misguided it appears to me. Hopefully those of us who pray with heart and soul for a defeat of Obama are entitled to the same respect.

Yeah they are showing you a lot of respect calling you a “so-called” conservative.

Hoefling .....AYFKM?

How the hell do you have the stones to cast aspersions at liberals as ignorant, than consider helping tip the scales to an outright communist.

I'm of a single mind here.

If you live in a state that is 5 points outside the MoE (for you 'I just dont get it' types, thats Margin of Error) against you...feel free to vote your conscience.

I live in NJ, and barring Camden and Patterson, and Newark taking nukes, I'll probably pull the lever for Johnson.

At least Governor Veto ran a lefty state as a LIBERTARIAN.

But my states demography already prevents me from casting a meaningful vote.

Hoefling? really? Let me ask you the same question I begged of Obama supporters, in 2008...

What has he done to qualify himself to be President....?

Let's just ask this question every day....

What has Hoefling done, to justify being President?

He's more conservative than Obama, but his resume? Even less.

We already allowed a neophyte into the top slot, now you want one with less credentials?

He’s won my respect, over the last several years.
I hope he’ll be on our CA ballot.

I menat to ask b9 what the resident state was.

I live in NJ. I throw away my vote, in every election cycle.
See....

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/nj/new_jersey_romney_vs_obama-1912.html

If the polls in NJ are close, clearly I’d vote for Romney.

However, instead of casting a useless vote I’d think of it a pragmaticv way to send a message.

I believe b9 is in California but isn’t that exactly what she said? Perhaps if more people voted for the candidate we have been given the message would be sent that indeed fewer Americans want obammy than even before. They do give a total vote count, as you know, so your vote does indeed count.
