I am convinced that America, in its present form, could never, ever replicate the space program effort that took place from the 1950s - 1970s.

If what was accomplished then was attempted now, this is what would happen:

- NASA publicly releases the names of Air Force and Navy test pilots who will become the first astronauts; the Congressional Black Caucus, NOW, the NAACP, the Human Rights Campaign for LGBT Rights, and Congressional Democrats immediately hold a press conference lamenting the exclusion of minorities, gays, women, and transgendered Americans

- NASA announces the Lockheed, Boeing, Grumman, General Electric, and General Motors will cooperate to build the new rockets, launch platforms, space suits, capsules, and the myriad of associated technology needed. The President immediately announces an Executive Order canceling the contracts and orders that Small Business Association (SBA) 8(a) Minority-Owned and Woman-Owned Business be declared the prime contractors

- Houston Texas is announced as the site for NASA Control Headquarters; the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), in conjunction with the Labor Dept and the heads of major labor unions file a lawsuit alleging that Texas right to work status violates "the spirit of union workers right to a fair living wage." Congress immediately follows suit, and the plans to start construction are scrapped

- Despite the fact that billions have already been on construction of Cape Canaveral; the US Govt announced that the entire site will be abandoned. The EPA, the Sierra Club, the UN Environmental Agency, and various green groups applauded the decision, since the construction had threatened the nest construction of the Fulvous Whistling-Duck

In the first place, it's sideways. And no matter how I turn my iPhone, it's still sideways. I gave up.

in the second place, I don't have a pair 3-d glasses.
