Then there are the socialists that order Battered Fried Clams versus Patriots who like theirs dusted with a little corn meal and flour.
I never tasted a fried clam before I was exiled from Idaho but I chose my side quickly, Patriot. Go to Essex or Newbury and visit the clam shacks and make a choice.
I used to travel to MA frequently for work, and they would take us to decent places. There was a restaurant way up on a hill just into NH from MA. It was very scenic. I had lobster there.
Anyway, I am neither a socialist nor a commie (and not sure you should be throwing those labels at people who happen to like clam strips or battered fried clams).
Having lived my whole life in the Midwest, we don’t have much access to the variety of seafood available in other locations.
But we can buy amazing beef sirloins for $5/lb just down the street.
