Even among the various types of semi-vegetarians (lacto-, pesca-, etc), I'd bet that the percentage is significantly higher than 30%.
The self-proclaimed "moral superiority" of many vegetarians/vegans has always been a huge turn-off for me. (Eat what you want, let me eat what I want, and we'll get along just fine. Preach to me about the evils of my diet and I'll have nothing to do with you.)
I also noted that he was out sick 3 days in the 4 weeks he worked. The last time I took a sick day, Bush was in his first term. The pizza included meatball and Prosciutto toppings. Yum!
I know when some businesses/bars have a grilling event, vegans INSIST that their food be cooked on a separate grill.
And for muslims, halal preparation of food requires that no forbidden items come in contact with their foodstuffs.
I can’t speak for vegan/omnivore homes but could see problems in the kitchen with boundaries being set over which cutting board to use, where to store meat items, etc.
For some, it is an obsessive compulsive disorder “the foods can’t touch!”.
I don’t like raw bean sprouts but I don’t argue about the risks of ecoli contamination of my bacon when a stray bean sprout falls in the bacon container on a salad bar.
