Beyond reprehensible and hateful!

~~~
JimRob.. vicious, evil venom. I would’ve never predicted my sincere post would elicit that awful blast.
And I just finished posting to the Religion Mod: that the avenue for disharmony resides in the subject generally and I feel it’s predictable and unnecessary in these times, and here it is, in full blown, scathing hatefulness.
I don’t think I’ve even ever had a substantive exchange with Star Traveler, but he/she finds it’s acceptable to boldly attack my faith and speak to me like this here? And he/she’s apparently a disciple and cohort of this ‘prophet’ Quix?
This is very bad, beyond offensive or acceptable, Jim .. Why would you want even the hint of this kind of sickening content in any thread on the premier conservative site on the web?
~~~~~

“SO ... if you perceived Quix as thinking that way - you’re probably very right - but so do I think that way, too ... and when it comes down to the end times when Jesus comes again - the Catholic Church and it’s evil doctrines are going to end up in the Pit of Hell and nowhere else.

Now ... THAT ... is not just the consideration of a few people (whom others may like to label as disturbed or hateful) - but it’s also “Bible teaching” that you’ll get from some of the best and most respected Bible teachers in America, who lead many to Christ. This is not some crazy or minority position but is pretty much the teaching of many in Evangelical Christianity.

Someone holding to that view - is in VERY GOOD COMPANY with a whole lot of other Christians who take the Bible at its word - and not some other writings coming from a corrupt and evil church.

[And I suppose that what I’m saying is what you would be talking about - not wishing it was on Free Republic any more. However, this is the exact nature of what someone is going to get - if - one gets into Christianity and especially the Christianity of the Bible - straight from God’s Word, itself. Jesus himself was not very friendly to the evil-doers who MISLED other people, just like Catholic Priests of today do with the people. And we don’t have to be mean to other people - on a personal level - but when it comes to Biblical doctrine and pointing out what “doctrines” are from the DEVIL HIMSELF and from the Pit of Hell ... there can be no compromising on that, which is why you get people who will “call out” the Catholic Church as an evil institution and due to be utterly destroyed by Jesus Christ when He comes again.]”

LOL, and his post is largely a hilarious (though obviously unknowing) appeal to human authority.

What a gutless punk.

Whenever one belief spawns from another, both will usually condemn the other in the harshest terms possible, e.g. apostate, anathema, heretic, Satanic, cult. Those terms sometimes become part of the religion's holy writings.

On the Religion Forum, condemnations and ridicule of beliefs may be raised only on "open" RF threads.

Posters who are offended when anyone condemns or ridicules their deeply held religious beliefs should IGNORE "open" RF threads altogether and instead post to RF threads labeled "caucus" "ecumenical" "prayer" or "devotional."

Or ignore the Religion Forum altogether.

Actually not a disciple of Quix ... but for a theological doctrinal stance ... I can give you a “basis” which has been put forth by leading Evangelicals in the USA. It’s the following “Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy” and many Evangelicals adhere to it and it forms the real basis for the authority of Scriptures and the recognition of where God’s word is applied today.

This is very well respected and is adhered to by a large number of Christians in the USA and world-wide.

Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy with Exposition

Background

The “Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy” was produced at an international Summit Conference of evangelical leaders, held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago in the fall of 1978. This congress was sponsored by the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy. The Chicago Statement was signed by nearly 300 noted evangelical scholars, including James Boice, Norman L. Geisler, John Gerstner, Carl F. H. Henry, Kenneth Kantzer, Harold Lindsell, John Warwick Montgomery, Roger Nicole, J. I. Packer, Robert Preus, Earl Radmacher, Francis Schaeffer, R. C. Sproul, and John Wenham.

The ICBI disbanded in 1988 after producing three major statements: one on biblical inerrancy in 1978, one on biblical hermeneutics in 1982, and one on biblical application in 1986.

The following text, containing the “Preface” by the ICBI draft committee, plus the “Short Statement,” “Articles of Affirmation and Denial,” and an accompanying “Exposition,” was published in toto by Carl F. H. Henry in God, Revelation And Authority, vol. 4 (Waco, Tx.: Word Books, 1979), on pp. 211-219.

The nineteen Articles of Affirmation and Denial, with a brief introduction, also appear in A General Introduction to the Bible, by Norman L. Geisler and William E. Nix (Chicago: Moody Press, rev. 1986), at pp. 181-185. An official commentary on these articles was written by R. C. Sproul in Explaining Inerrancy: A Commentary (Oakland, Calif.: ICBI, 1980), and Norman Geisler edited the major addresses from the 1978 conference, in Inerrancy (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1980).

Clarification of some of the language used in this Statement may be found in the 1982 Chicago Statement on Biblical Hermeneutics
