“Yes, he was a true defender of the faith - and that would be the faith as delivered from the word of God. He was against cults and cult groups - but faithful to what the Word of God said.
SO ... I think that many of those who were (are) against him, would actually be against others, too - who also defended the faith, as spoken from the Word of God, in the Holy Scriptures. But, thats not surprising - as were told that the world (for the most part) will not listen to or adhere to the Word of God, preferring to take other men as their authority.”
Why not start a thread on the Religion Forum? Invite Quix who was one of the nastiest posters on that forum ever.
And he does need prayers. Anyone that filled with hate needs all the prayers they can get.
Well, this is the thread “about” Quix ... and since he’s not on Free Republic any more - it wouldn’t do any good to invite him.
As far as being a nasty poster ... well ... Jesus was consider nasty to some that he talked to - also. He said ...
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead mens bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.”
I would be willing to bet that Jesus would be BANNED from Free Republic, if he said this type of thing online to some group of religious people here. And in this instance, Jesus was talking directly to “people” and not merely describing some “institutional teaching” or “doctrine”.
In addition to that ... I would be willing to bet that someone (today) would call the police on Jesus, and have them charge him with the destruction of property and assault on people, too!
When He went into the Temple and overturned and scattered goods and took a whip of cords and drove people out of the area - that was destruction of property and assault (in today’s terms). So, if Jesus were here today - and he were to do that - the police would be called and he would be getting some “charges” laid against him from the D.A.’s office ... :-)
The bottom line is that Jesus and the Bible doesn’t go by our society’s rules and ways of conduct with each other - and Jesus and the Bible doesn’t even go by our laws and rules and regulations. Jesus goes by His Father’s laws - which will - when He comes again - go completely against the actual “laws of the land” as we have voted into being - even here in the good ole USA!
