Women who own cats are more likely to have mental health problems and commit suicide because they can be infected by a common parasite that can be caught from cat litter, a study has found.

The only cats I think I would ever own would be “barn cats” in a rural or semi-rural setting that you feed once a day to supplement their diet and are semi tame.
And always Wash your hands after petting the cats.

...I am not sure the problem is in the cat liter...Maybe the source of the problem is metric cats.

That describes the scenario at my house perfectly. I also have them spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies.
