On a somewhat related note, two years ago we went to Nice for a week. A good friend has a condo a block off the Med, with a Med view from the balcony. We’d sit on the balcony some evenings drinking a nice Provence rose and looking at the view and the street scene.
The street scene included what we called the “Chamber of Commerce Ladies.” They were generally about a block and a half away, on the other side of the street, and they were very helpful with giving directions to passing motorists. Sometimes they would even hop in the car with the motorist to make sure they got where they were going! We felt sure they were Chamber of Commerce adjuncts, they so helpful, hence the appellation we gave them.

I was LOL on the street when I saw that, after seeing the Chamber of Commerce Ladies from the balcony the night before.
