I fired up my Starry Night with Phoenix as location, and I did notice a very bright and slow moving satellite, identified as RESURS-DK1, moving from W to SW. disappearing just S of SW at 10:34 this evening at about 21 deg. altitude.

Sounds reasonable. The trouble is why would it appear to be jumping about unless it was rotating and had something nearby that was attached which also rotated and caught the rays from the sun.

At that latitude the sun probably would have reflected off of any object but thought this seemed to jump about it stayed “relatively” in the same position over 15 minutes.

A satellite (most satellites) that do move, move MUCH faster than that and I have never heard of one that rotates in orbit. (if that was what it was doing???????)

Thanks. A good level headed possible explanation.
