The Electoral College is in the Constitution, amended by the 12th. The Party system is built each 4 years - the Republican Party builds from the ground up.
If some won’t respect contracts, Party rules, and State laws, if they threaten “riots,” the rest of us will not tolerate them.
Disruption by the elected representatives? A completely different story.
If they didn't sign a contract stating that they would abide by "the will of the people" as stated by a popular vote, well then they get to do what they want.
