Discovery of Historical Photos Sheds Light On Greenland Ice Loss

This historical photograph is part of a set of newly discovered images from explorer Knud Rasmussen's expedition to the southeast coast of Greenland in the early 1930s. Researchers are studying the images to learn more about how glaciers respond to climate change. (Credit: Image courtesy of the National Survey and Cadastre of Denmark)

ScienceDaily (May 29, 2012) A chance discovery of 80-year-old photo plates in a Danish basement is providing new insight into how Greenland glaciers are melting today.
It is interesting that in text books printed in the 1970s and earlier, the present day glaciers in the Sierra Nevada of California were said to have been created during the mini-ice age (400 to 150 years ago) as the original glaciers melted some 9,000 years ago after the Ice Age ended. Now enviromentalist groups say the glaciers are melting due to “Global Warming” though I live near them, look at them every day, and have seen no visible retreat of the glaciers myself.

Thanks, by the way...
———In that scenario, variations in the Sun seem to have much more weight than is generally accepted by today’s climatologists.———
No way possible that the SUN has anything to do with global climate changes.... / S
