Yup,they do. Thats all I plant. It might take extra work, putting up the fence. But in the end when they are ready to pick you can stand up and pick verses crawling around on your hands and knees to pick them.
This year I planted nothing but Chinese Mozaic long beans. They are a pinkish red bean that grow from 12 to 18 inches long. I think they taste better than Blue Lake pole beans. When they get going I'll post pictures of them here.
I agree. I have some green “yard long” beans and like them better than the regular beans. I pick them when they’re about a foot long and quite slim. I also have some Thai red long beans and honestly, they are producing like gang busters. We use all of our fresh raw veggies with our dips and sips. Great way to end the day. OH, no we don’t dip the tomatoes..just the green stuff, even rolled up greens and lettuce. I love this gardening stuff. I haven’t been doing it long and every plant is a mystery, for awhile, then it blossums out and it’s beautiful.
OH, a fellow offered a piece of land right next to our community garden, it’s about 1/4 acre. We do need to cut the trees and brush, root plow and get it ready. He’ll give us a year’s notice if he sells it. Things are looking better every week. People are wonderful.
