More than a year after it was first announced, Bristol Palins latest foray into reality TV will finally become, well, a reality, on June 19.
Only the premise has changed again slightly, bringing the premise tally to three, to date.
Lifetime announced Tuesday it will telecast two episodes of Bristol Palin: Lifes a Tripp each Tuesday night, following Bristols life as a single mom living under intense media scrutiny that comes from her lineage as the daughter of former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Only now shell be moving from Wasilla to Los Angeles with her younger sister Willow. And, apparently, back to Alaska as she deals with parenting and disciplining her toddler without Tripps father.

THANK YOU. I got flamed royally, multiple times on another thread the other day for daring to express my utter lack of interest in what this sad girl can contribute to the national conversation. Her message is fine, but she has not earned an ounce of credibility.
So, who cares?
I agree that they didn’t ask to be in the limelight initially. But shopping yourself to network TV (Dancing with the Stars and now this reality show) opens the door to criticism. If you complain about the media and all the hatred aimed at you personally due to the media, why in Gods name would you contact the media to put you on a reality show about yourself???? This is like knowing that fire will kill you and then walking into a burning building to see what happens....
That was way wrong.
Nothing about Bristol’s life has been “chaotic and unrepresentative of “traditional values and morality.”, unless you want to count the one sex act
She had sex with her high school boyfriend, became pregnant and handled it well ever since that slip.
For years now Bristol Palin has devoted herself to promoting life, abstinence, traditional family values, and conservatism.
She will be turning 22 in a few months, and very few people that age have done so much for conservatism and their fellow young females and in promoting abstinence and recovery from a sexual mistake, and not compounding it with an abortion.
It looks like she is going to be a strong leader for our cause, lord knows that she can take the pressure of being an outspoken conservative.
“How exactly is a single mother, who never married the father of her child, going to instill traditional values? She can hardly be expected to preach values as there’s a credibility factor MISSING.”
The same way that a church is a hospital for sinners, not a shrine for saints......
wtc911 has such a hatred for anything Palin that it is legendary here at freerepublic.
His posts on this thread reflect that, they are nothing but insulting sniping, and totally ignore her role in conservative activism although he is well aware of it.
for later
Sorry, dude. I just don't see her as an example of conservative womanhood. I don't hate her, nor do I condemn her. Just can't get excited about her unearned celebrity.
You must be very accomplished to be so brutal and mocking against a couple of Alaskan girls one 17 and one 21.
I think it is reasonable to expect good things from them, Bristol has already delivered in spades for her age.
DWTS approached her, gave her a public platform for her conservative activism and bought her and her son a house, why would anyone turn DWTS down?
Bristol has only complained about the way the media covers her family, all conservatives have the same complaint.
Bristol has never pleaded to be left alone, she is making her living in media and is a new York Times, best selling author.
As long as her work can preach her conservative message, and reach the young women that she is trying to help, then she is succeeding.
You don’t explain why you disapprove of her, she is most definitely one of the examples of conservative motherhood.
Bristol fell, and recovered, and shows that good girls can make mistakes but it doesn’t have to mean that one can’t escape that path, nor that a baby has to die.
As far as “earning” her celebrity, and speaking platform, few have endured more to earn it.
Bristol Palin was set upon by a pack of wolves like we have never seen a 17 year old girl have to endure, every avenue possible was used to destroy her, break her, suck her dry until she was nothing but a used husk.
Instead Bristol turned it all against them and she had what it took to turn her moment of weakness into a teaching example, and has used it to help others ever since.
Again, like my earlier post said, I will agree to a point.
DWTS didn’t buy Bristol a home. She won an amount in a game show and used the money she won to buy a house. There was no guarantee that by going on the show she would be given that money.
My point on the complaining is, if you open the door by doing a “reality show”, you are also opening the door to many consequences. In general, Reality TV is not taken seriously. Ozzy Osbourne, Gene Simmons of Kiss, the Khardasian’s, Octo-Mom and many others have torn that wall completely down. It’s dead media. Ridicule will come from every direction warranted or not. When you put yourself in that position and then complain about the LSM and their coverage of you and/or your family, it loses credibility.
I think she is better suited to writing books, running her blog, and making appearances on shows where she can actually get her points across to a mature audience.
Of course I meant that her earnings from the show bought her the house, she came in third and made a princely sum.
There is nothing wrong with “reality” TV, it comes in all forms, just like “sitcom” or “drama” or today “cartoon”, it doesn’t mean only goofy or silly, or sinful.
Here is part of an article:
Conservative Republicans like more reality TV than liberals
But conservative Republicans love all kinds of reality TV, as about half of their top 25 shows are reality TV. They include, in order of popularity, Swamp Loggers, Top Shot, The Bachelor, Mythbusters, Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy, American Pickers, Swamp People, Top Gear, Pawn Stars, The Biggest Loser, Dancing with the Stars results show, Man vs. Wild, and Auction Kings.
The least-favorite shows of Republicans include Jersey Shore and Bridezillas, while Democrats dislike Swamp Loggers, Dog the Bounty Hunter, The Ultimate Fighter, Kitchen Nightmares, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, and The Haunted.
The MSM and their obsession to destroy the Palin Family prevented Bristol from going to Stanford like Chelsea Clinton or Yale like the Bush Twins as President Obama would never approve Secret Service Protection for Bristol as she would need to be in college.
Your buddy has already opused a couple of times directly to JR over his Palin hatred, and trolling.
He opused after this post from JR on a Palin thread.

I am the first to admit that there are “reality shows” that I enjoy. Many of which you listed (except The Bachelor....). Also, are Dem’s afraid of ghost??? Just curious.
I guess my point is, her show is a “personal” reality show that depicts “A day in my shoes”. Those are the types of shows that have been so abused over the years that the majority of people cringe when they see them. That is why the shows you listed have become more popular and are taken far more seriously than the “about me” shows. Networks saw that the “personal” reality shows had become obtuse caricature of themselves that they moved to a more productive style of show.
If Bristol Palin was to do a show about the pressures of being a teenager, mistakes that are made including her own, and how to avoid these mistakes, she would be taken far more seriously. Watching her move to L.A. to live with a young couple, move back to Alaska, and her daily life thrown in has no redeeming value.
I hope you realize that I have not once trashed her nor will I. I truly feel that this could be a real error in her judgement and may do more damage than good.
That being said, what article did you get that information on? I’m really curious why Dem’s are afraid of ghost. I’m sitting in a hotel room and for some reason that just has me cracking up!
That was merely a critique of a show that none of us have seen yet.
I don’t know if it will be popular or not, I wish her success and I hope all the young ladies tune in.
Here is the link to the article.
I haven’t critiqued her show. I was critiquing shows of the genre she is planning on airing.
Thanks for the article!
It sure looked like a critique to me, you seem to know it all in advance.
