Piggly Wiggly? I know it’s a true name. We used to have them down in South Texas many years ago.
Now, should we name the fat blob who tried to rob them “MISS PIGGLY JIGGLY?”
The Pink Palace in Memphis was built as a residence for the man who started the Piggly Wiggly chain. They have a recreation of the first Piggly Wiggly store inside. Apparently it was the first grocery store where customers picked out the items themselves and brought them to the cashier instead of handing the clerk a list of what they wanted.
In some places, employees who tried to stop a theft like that would be fired.
