I doubt that a loving God would have thought 6 years in prison should be his penance.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

I have serious issues with anyone thinking that God does something like that. Every time something horrible happens in a life... a child is struck by a car and killed, a family member dies of cancer, you end up in a prison based on a lie from someone... did God do this as a punishment? If one follows that belief system, then why doesn’t God punish child killer, molesters, murderers and the like? I totally agree with the statement that a loving God wouldn’t do that. IMHO.
