Anyone reading your post knows it is nonsense.

Most of what FB does is unnecessary for anything important, it is mostly dealing with putting up personal information, which frankly, most other people don't care about.

You really are deluded.

"Most of what FB does is unnecessary for anything important, it is mostly dealing with putting up personal information, which frankly, most other people don't care about. "

Wait you claimed it is not an advancement in communications, now you are back to its unimportant and unnecessary. So let us first deal with the idiotic unneccassry claim.

When the telegraph was invented it was unnecessary people got along fine with out it but it quickly became a mainstay in communication and like I mentioned before was one of the huge advantages the North had in the Civil War (Lincoln could get near Real time updates on battles and troop movements because of his War room was wired for multiple Telegraph line coming in from multiple parts of the country.)

Phones were "Unnecessary" when they were developed that is until they became the dominant form of Communication in the world. Now everyone carries one around in their pocket. But when they were first developed naysayers like yourself predicted it would be nothing more than a novelty. But they like you were very wrong!

The internet and email was for computer geeks when it was first invented and unnecessary. Even IBM the leading computer maker at the time who could have dominated the home computing market predicted no one was really interested in having a home computer because what would people do with one. Then the internet/www changed the world forever and became the dominate communications platform allowing anyone to surf the net for info from their own home with ease BUT if you wanted to share your info it was a code-laden-heavy-handed process and most people had not a clue how to. That is until sites allowed people to use "point and click" and "drag and drop" solutions (like youtube for video and photobucket for pics and blogs sites for text.) the problem was to share all these things in one place was still a coding nightmare no site really incorporated all and anything that tried was still buggy and had such a small customer base that the majority of internet user didn't use it.

Then came Facebook, they packaged all of these forms of communication into one place in such a way that people could easily share video, text and photos with a few clicks of the mouse. Now its has become the largest communications platform on the internet and done so in less than 8 years. 900 million active users in 8 years no communications platform gained that amount of market share in so short of time.

now you claim that Facebook is Unnecessary because all it does is allow people to share personal info. hahahahah OK let us show you exactly how stupid your statement is.

Telephones are mostly used by people who are sharing personal info. In fact if people didn't use them for such the cell phone industry would be a a fraction of the size it is. Cellphones wouldn't need text and photo and video capabilities being all of these features are used to... wait for it... wait for it.. SHARE PERSONAL INFO...! But try and buy one today that doesn't do ALL of those things. WHY is that? Because people WANT TO DO SO. and guess what over half the 900 Million Facebook accounts already use cellphones/mobile devices to share their personal info.

That is 450 million cellphones/mobile devices sharing personal info via their cellphone service on Facebook. There is no cellphone service provider that has close to that many customers. AT&T and Verizon combined don't have half that many customers. (who BTW mostly use their devices to share personal info)

hahahahah your problem is you have nothing but empty rhetoric and you can't back it up with a single fact.

Bottom line Facebook has become the single largest communications platform in the world. Even though you laughingly claim it is "unnecessary and unimportant". I bet Verizon and AT&T would love to be able to have 450 million customers so they could become that "unnecessary and unimportant"...

hahahaha
