In a comment to the author of this thread, and speaking to the subject of Libertarianism, I commented in this vein that, "Republicans don't need a Libertarian to tell them that Romney is ripping the very heart of the Republican Conscience right out of the body of the Republican Party." (source)

The Reagan Conscience to be precise.

The moment that idea formed in my mind, I remembered this dramatic scene from "The Matrix" movie series, where "Agent Smith", who represents an agent of darkness and slavery, had thrust his hand into the heart of "Neo" the movie's hero, for the purpose of converting him to another mind-numbing agent of the darkside, and I remembered the special effects were superb, and that this scene would serve as a very dramatic metaphor for what is going on in the Republican Party today.

I share this scene here, for the purpose of offering some encouragement to what appears to be the embattled minority, to continue to stand our ground in a determined manner, with the hope of victory blazing brightly at the center of the mind's eye, to block the RomneyZombies efforts to take over the Republican Party.

In the screen-captured image below, you see where Agent Smith has thrust his hand into Neo's heart, and the darkness is spreading out throughout his whole body, and is nearly consuming him, but he gathers together his inner strength (which can only come from his strong belief in, faith in, and trust in God) and drives the darkness back. This scene is about 2:50 into the clip. Be ready to turn up the volume on your system as the sound track in this clip is very low, and you need to hear every word spoken before the major fight scene begins.

See how Neo resists the taking over of his heart, yet he still has a battle to fight. And it is a dramatic battle too. The battle ebbs and flows, for a moment victory seems certain, the next moment defeat seems certain, the next moment the hope of victory bursts alive again, and then it is dashed again as more Agent Smiths arrive on the scene.

Of course it is all allegory. The circle he draws around himself in the end, is an allegory for God.

The moral of the story, is that while you must fight, while you must defend your core priorities in God, you cannot win without the Power of God which you cannot access without obedience to His Laws. That is the symbolism of the circle. It is the circle of the Law, the circle of God-Reality, that is where victory and freedom reside.

And yes, to surrender your purpose to the darkside, the purpose that God has placed in your heart, is to die.

The significance of Agent Smith's initial dialog, is in the fact that the dark side will adapt to the appearance of a real threat, and use deception to get the individual to lower his guard, allowing the enemy to gain access to the heart of the opponent, i.e. to his priority system.

This interesting capacity of Agent Smith to endlessly replicate himself speaks to this phenomena of the darkside capturing the hearts of more and more members of the Republican Party, making them into RomneyZombies, totally unthinking, though stubborn, and relentless, adherents to their leader, Willard M. Romney.

Does it phase them in the least that they bow and scrape before a man whose first name is also the title of a horror movie where the nemesis releases an army of rats on his enemies? No. Everybody will remember Bloody Thursday in exactly that way, except them.

The people who have truth still in their hearts, they must defend it. They must fight off the Agent Smiths. And they must come to terms with the source of their true inner strength, which is the Power of God through the intercession of the Lord Christ, whose universal desire and purpose is to raise each Child of God into the domain of Sonship under God, to thus empower them unto the victory in this ongoing battle between the forces of good and evil.

If that power does not start flowing through them now, as it did through Neo for the victory, the soul of the Republican Party will be lost.

The story of Neo is the story of a regular person, drawn into a great battle for freedom, who has to come to terms with who he really is, a Child of God, Heir to the Kingdom, and the representive of the Most High in the earth, with the power to match. Yes, Neo has to figure out what it really means to believe.

I finally got back to my computer this evening, looked over all the comments, and I enjoyed watching all of you act out a very realistic replay of the above video.

The many who played the "Agent Smith" part, i.e. the RomneyZombies, were true to form. You got slammed and blasted by the Neos many times with solid gold principle and you didn't feel a thing, nope, you didn't feel a thing, except for rage perhaps, you just kept on sluggin away. To kill the truth, to snuff it out, your only passion.

The few who played the Neo parts, they kept their head held high, but they left the arena battered, because they have feelings, but they left more certain than ever that their Party is being overun by a swarm of nasties, the romneyzombies, who sole enjoyment in life is to trample the Will of God into mush and rubble under their frankenstein-like work boots.

And because the Neos left more certain of the righteous of their cause, they left the more FREE to BE who they really are in God. More determined to be Faithful to His Cause. After all, that is what it means to be a Child of God.

And so, let us heave to, to raise a barrier of Light to this stinking river of mindless mind-numbing sewage, barfed out into the wide and once shining boulevards of this Free Republic by this marauding mass of RomneyZombies.

Actually, I realized my mistake once about 20 years ago (I vote individually for each position and if I do not know a candidates stand-I do not vote, now) and have asked God to forgive me.

Also, don’t fear the truth in regards to the “rapture.” If you fear God, ask Him to teach you the truth even if it means throwing away a theology you grew up with. Do your own studies. What is more important, your relationship with God or believing a theory that was conceived in the 1800’s and not specifically mentioned but pieced together with bits from here and there and not a total work.

Christians are going through the tribulation. Read Revelation 20: 1-6 and try and fit the first resurrection into the pre-trib theology, especially verse 5 “5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed.”

There is no rapture in Revelation before the tribulation.

The key is the resurrection of the dead. Be as the Samaritans who believed Jesus was the Messiah because they saw Him on their own, not because of the word of the woman at the well.

Anyone who believes that the numerous probable mortal dangers that we face as a country--with a completely unfettered and presumed-mandated Obama dictatorship--can be countered, either lawfully through checks and balances, or contained, through enforcement of our sovereign or physical borders--is beyond naïve.

I didn't put words in your mouth. I quoted your words accurately. And then I gave my opinion in regards to those words.

All RomneyZombies are trapped in a sealed chamber of pure hatred for Obama. The energy inside this sealed chamber of pure hatred for Obama deceives those who are trapped therein, into believing this hatred is the highest authority, and that anything that opposes this hatred is the "enemy".

Seamless hatred cuts the soul off from the Light of Conscience, which also corresponds to the faculty of vision, which emanates from the heart, blinding the person to the truth.

The people who indulge Anti-Semitism are trapped in a similar sealed chamber of pure hatred for Jews. The people who indulge racial bigotry, are trapped in a similar sealed chamber of pure hatred for people of a different skin color. A sealed chamber of hatred for Obama is no different in outcome and effect than these others I have mentioned.

And those who become trapped in these sealed chambers of hatred, hatred of this, or hatred of that, makes Jesus Christ your enemy, who said "Love your Enemies". Why did he say that? He said that to make sure that while you properly oppose a threat to our freedoms, you will not be deceived into following a false prophet (Willard) in trampling upon the Laws of God, which is actually the one thing that is the greatest threat to your freedoms.

This is the main point. Trampling on the Laws of God, that is the core action of the people that puts our freedoms in jeopardy. Why? It is because it is God alone whose power supports the institutions of liberty. Rebel against God, his power is withdrawn, and the institutions of liberty begin to collapse. Obama is only a symptom of a much broader state of Rebellion against God that's been sweeping through the American public over the last several decades. Willard is a standbearer in this movement in the direction of Rebellion.

By supporting a person (Willard) who is trampling on the Laws of God as much as Obama is, you actually make the situation worse. As both the Left and Now the Right are trampling on the Laws of God. This is known as doubling down on Rebellion, and disaster can be the only consequence thereof.

Willard's heart is one with Obama's heart. The only difference being, Willard lusts after the seat of power that Obama now occupies. That is the only difference. Gog and Magog. Willard will make the same alliances that Obama has made, and you see him doing that already, and he will be as much a threat to freedom as Obama. In fact a worse threat, because he has divided the conservative base. When Willard tramples on freedom, as a Rombyzombie, you will support him.

You choose to take my words, in isolation, and then you proceeded to spew your venomous one track indictment of Romney, as if it had any relation to what I said, which was specifically about Obama, and I clarified it for you.

But I can only deal with reality. And if the hand I am dealt is Romney, then I have to assume this is God's plan, since He alone puts people in charge to accomplish His purposes.

In the most surface manner, it can be said that we all "hate" that which we find repugnant according to our personal value and priority systems.

But we are speaking about a much more entrenched form of hatred here, when it comes to the sealed chambers of hatred that have people hating Jews, hating people of other skin colors, and the RomneyZombies hatred of Obama, a hatred that has a dynamic element to it, that is not only blind to the relevance of God's Law, but will mock the idea of that relevance. You can see an element of that in the response given by Exit82 just above.

Darkside influences enter the deep shadow cast by Willard over the once bright landscape of the Republican Party, and they make people sound like they are Anti-God.

On the other hand, opposition to people who carry the banner of Rebellion against God, a state of rebellion that is recognized by its direct and forceful opposition to the Will of God, especially in these areas of abortion and homosexuality, is not the same thing as human hatred. It is state of opposition that has an allegiance to the principles of God first, and which must take a stand against all forces that would subvert those principles. Willard is the most substantially powerful subversion factor ever to come so close to receiving the Republican Nomination.

This state of opposition to Anti-God forces in general, and to Willard in particular, is a state of love, a forcefield of love for what God has said is important, which has to be at the same time a forcefield of opposition to all who would make a dead letter out of what God has told us is important. Willard ensouls a force of darkness that would make a dead letter (within the Republican Party) out of what God has said is important.

This forcefield of the heart and mind which opposes the self-styled enemies of God, should be seamless as well, but in Light, not Darkness.

Of course, in this culture, it is very difficult to maintain a seamless forcefield of Light in this regard.

Nearly each time you turn on the television for example, you are pulled into a little compartment of delusion, where everybody in that little compartment is acting out the fantasy that God is irrelevant, and that there are no consequences whatsover in ignoring or overtly rebelling against his laws. It is no different than walking into one of the salons of the Titanic a couple of hours before it was to sink below the surface of the ocean. Everybody having fun, joking and elbow rubbing, oblivious to the actual truth, that most of them would be drowned in the ocean before the sun rose the next morning.

Unless you have some unknown, "sure-thing" process to get a better conservative out in front of Romney to secure the nomination at the convention (and I'll certainly vote for that candidate if you do), then your realistic choices are to keep fighting with the most viable candidate or (effectively) disenfranchise yourself in Obama's favor. I still don't get your point. Are you arguing that it is preferable to render your vote useless? Or, do you have a "sure-thing" candidate that you are going to spring on us at some point? Or, are you just pissed off at the whole process and want to vent, create chaos and/or drag everyone down to your level of frustration - to where you would rather fight tooth and nail for a *loss*?

You can wallow in your misery to your hearts desire. That's your perogative and I hope you regain your senses some day. What you *can't* do (or refuse to do, I'm not sure which) is produce a viable alternative to either Obama or Romney. Pissing and moaning never accomplished a darn thing. Are you going to lead, follow or get the hell out of the way?

So, to condense it down:

Produce a candidate that has a better chance of beating Obama than the GOP candidate. Easy to say, apparently impossible to do.

Continue to fight Obama with the flawed, leading candidate we have (the GOP candidate), not the imaginary "Perfect Conservative"(tm) candidate we can't seem to ever find or agree on.

Disengage the fight, or go fight some skirmish on the sidelines that no-one will notice or care about. Go sulk. Vote for someone who doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. Frantically grasp at some tortured rationalization, merely to make yourself feel good. Whatever floats your boat.
