It is very obvious what is going on. Romney is going after the votes of the Limbaugh-Hannity haters. It does represent a significant voting block and if those on the fence see this as a bold move by a non-conservative Republican they just might abandon Obama and vote for him.

Yes, now that all conservative candidates have been destroyed by a party establishment that was determined to win, all of a sudden they lose all their gumption.

Do they even want to win? That's not really a rhetorical question, I'm afraid.

Actually, it's probably an astute move - keeps it from being a religious issue. Obama has plenty of associations that are not connected religiously. Romney going after the Wright angle would just allow the Left to obscure the real issues, by calling it a "godless Mormon's attack on religion" or some such nonsense.
